Like the Euro-spec model, the US version of the 2020 Volkswagen Passat will also be getting an update although the update will not be as major as the Europe version.
The US version will be getting some interior and exterior design upgrades making it look more upscale both on the inside and outside. While it will look updated now, the engine will remain the same as they will be carrying over the same 2.0 liter TSI turbo-four gasoline engine which will be offering about 164hp and 206lb ft of torque, a little more torque than the previous model. The engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
While there are a lot of upgrades, the fuel economy of the Passat is lower now as EPA reports that the vehicle will now return 23mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway which is 2mpg less than before.
Features like the full LED lighting, 6.3-inch Composition Media infotainment system, App-Connect, rearview camera, front assist with Pedestrian Monitoring will all come as standard features now.
