Why Samsung Galaxy S6 Didn’t Have Pure Android

By  |

There are many owners of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S6 included, who don’t really care which version of Android is on their device. Others like to update to the latest version when they can and some people are constantly checking for new versions.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 had to wait for a long time to get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on their device while owners of the LG G4 began enjoying the update and all it brought with it.

Samsung used to offer pure Android devices thanks to Google Play Editions but they weren’t all that popular and now they offer Good Lock app. Some Android fans have been frustrated to find that pure Android is no longer available but it seems that it wasn’t all that popular on the Google Play Editions.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow took a long time to reach the Samsung Galaxy S6 but there hasn’t been enough people complaining about lack of pure Android for Samsung to offer it.

The Google Play Editions haven’t been around for two years now as people just weren’t buying it. Bear in mind that while pure Android does get updated faster, the customer support can be lacking.
