Waze For Android Auto Could Be Delayed Due To Privacy Invasion

By  |

The Waze developers said that they wanted to launch the app for Android Auto during quarter one of this year but up to now nothing has come out. We are almost at the end of Q1 and still no sign of it, so what happened to it?

We have heard that Waze for Android Auto has been delayed due to privacy invasion that is being integrated into the apps.

Google is said to want Waze to collect driving data from those using the app and create a virtual profile. The data would then be used to identify what a certain driver wants very fast and Google would then hold an auction with advertisers to promote their products on Waze.

This seems to suggest that when Waze does come to Android Auto the app is going to offer up ads to drivers. Of course the revenue potential is huge for Google and this could be why we haven’t seen Waze make its arrival just yet as there could be privacy issues that have to be wrangled out.
