Volvo XC90 Gives Life Lessons To Audi Q7 Along With BMW X5

There is no getting away from the fact that the Volvo XC90 is a great vehicle to drive and this vehicle managed to revive the branding of Volvo by itself. So it does have the criteria that are needed to give life lessons to the Audi Q7 and the BMW X5.

Four years ago Geely invested $11 billion in Volvo and so far this has proven to be a good investment. Volvo used some of the money for development of a new engine plant and the rest of the money was spent on developing the SPA platform.

Both the Volvo XC90 and the S90 are great vehicles and the XC90 sales have managed to increase by 259%. Right now the XC90 is just 18 months of age but in another four years’ time it will be the oldest vehicle running on the SPA platform. The boss of Volvo did say that he is hoping to be able to produce around 100,000 vehicles each year and he was talking about autonomous driving partnership they have with Uber.

Both Uber and Volvo put a lot of time and effort into researching autonomous driving and recently the Volvo XC90 was seen being driven in Pittsburgh during testing. Volvo does want to become a top tier brand name and only three years ago the car maker said that they wanted to sell 800,000 vehicles per year. Up to now they have managed to sell 425,000 vehicles, which means that sales of their vehicles have doubled in four years.
