Volvo Betting Big On EV, Set Goal For 2025

By  |

Most automakers have already set their goal for the number of electric vehicles they will be offering in the near future but Volvo is taking that one step further.

Volvo previously announces that every new car that they introduce after 2019 will come with some electrification but that is not all. The automaker has just announced that they plan to have half their car sales come from pure electric vehicles by 2025. That is a pretty high goal since that is only 7 years from now.

Seeing as Volvo currently does not even have a full EV to offer, some people think that Volvo might be setting the bar too high for themselves. While they might or might not achieve it, it does make it clear what Volvo’s priorities are now.

Volvo currently offers a few electrified vehicles including the XC90 Plug-In Hybrid, S90 plug-in hybrid, and the XC60 plug-in hybrid. We can also expect to see the V60 plug-in hybrid soon.
