While Volkswagen won’t be killing off the Volkswagen Passat model, they will be killing off the GT Trim level which means the only engine option that Volkswagen will be offering on the Passat will be the four-cylinder turbo engine.

According to the reports, Volkswagen did this to make way for the next-gen Volkswagen Passat which will be coming to NA. The current model has been around since 2011 and Volkswagen is preparing to introduce the successor for the Passat next year.

For now, the Passat will be offered with two trim option, the Wolfsburg Edition which will be coming with features like the 17inch wheels, keyless ignition, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and more.

The SE-R model, on the other hand, will get additional features like LED lighting, better infotainment, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors and more. As for the 2019 model, there is not a while lot of detail right now but it is believed that the vehicle will be getting a larger body.
