It is looking like owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 on Verizon are going to be getting updated to Marshmallow 6.0.1. The update is going to be welcome as it is going to bring with it security patches to fix issues on the Samsung Galaxy S6 along with the Edge.

Samsung did talk about giving owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow but then there were delays for it. We heard that the device may be getting updated back in December of last year.

Verizon is going to be the first carrier to give out the Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 along with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the S6.

The Marshmallow update brings with it Google Now on Tap along with Doze, while permissions may be turned off at any time.

So owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 on Verizon can head into settings to check for the update and if it’s available for your handset you will see a button saying update now.
