Verizon Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Update: It Ain’t Over Yet!

By  |

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have the update to Jelly Bean 4.1. Just a couple of months back the US top carriers were in a race to get the update out and Verizon, who happen to be the largest US carrier, came in last.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update

The Verizon 4.1 Jelly Bean update leaked online in September and this brought about rumours that Verizon would be releasing it very soon to Samsung Galaxy S3 owners. However the Jelly Bean update was rolled out by other carriers and customers of Verizon were left waiting for it.

To make matters worse people in Canada and Australia, along with many other regions around the world, all got the update as well. This made Verizon truly stand out as a sore thumb.

Android 4.1.1 arrives with bloatware added in by Verizon and this could have caused the delay of course. Meanwhile customers of AT&T were thankful that they were not the last to get the Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update. They got it through Kies, as opposed to OTA, which was something of a mystery.

Verizon customers did get the update, however their worries are not over as the race is now on for the update to Jelly Bean 4.2. This update comes with Photo Sphere and Gesture Typing, along with other features. Verizon of course were the last to roll out the update to Jelly Bean 4.1, so customers are now worrying that the same will happen with the Android 4.2 update.

At the moment he Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus is many updates behind its non-carrier branded counterpart, so this just goes to show us that we may be in for a long wait for Android 4.2 for the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
