[OFFICIAL] Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Gets Jelly Bean

By  |

Despite noises about a Jelly Bean update coming to the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, there’s was no update for months. We saw the GSM models get the update as well as international Samsung Galaxy Nexus units. However those on Verizon and Sprint had continued to wait. still no real sign of it. The phone’s owners are still waiting for official news about this OTA upgrade.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update now available

Some good news came last week when Sprint began to roll out Jelly Bean for its Galaxy Nexus. If you happen to own a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus and were green with envy, the good news is that it is (finally) your turn. As of Thursday, the official Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update is now rolling out.

If you want to see if the update is ready for your unit, just head to Settings > About Phone so your device can query the Google servers. If it’s not there then just hang on, these update sometimes take a couple of weeks to cover all devices out there.

In addition to the Jelly Bean features, the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus is expected to get some bug fixes too. I had already received the update on my device and can say that Google Now is the best thing in Jelly Bean. Furthermore I noticed that my media volume can be pushed a lot louder now.
