Google’s Little Rejects: Verizon & Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus

By  |

The Google Nexus range of devices are very much adored. However Google may be wishing that they could sweep the Samsung Galaxy Nexus from Verizon along with the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S 4G from Sprint, under the rug.

No Jelly Bean update for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus & Sprint Galaxy Nexus & Nexus S 4G yet

Both of the carriers say that they offer the pure Google experience with these handsets. However, as yet none of the aforementioned devices have been updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Other GSM variants on carriers around the globe have updated their handsets, allowing users to enjoy the features of Jelly Bean already just like a Google Nexus phone should.

Verizon and Sprint have not said anything about the release date for the update to Jelly Bean either, but the update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has already leaked and rumored to officially be made available on August 29. And this is not even a pure Google handset.

The moral of the story is that if you want to avoid being swept under the carpet you may wish to avoid purchasing a Google device from either Sprint or Verizon and instead go for an unlocked GSM handset. A useful tip for those looking forward to the Google Nexus 4, rumored to come out this holidays.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
