Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus: 3rd Nail In Coffin Coming

By  |

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus should have been stripped of the Nexus name a long time ago. However here we are talking about what is likely set to be the fourth nail in smartphone’s coffin.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus users watch as Android 4.2.1 pops up for Sprint variant

The Andorid 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus has showed up on the carrier’s servers and is available for download right now. We’re just waiting for Sprint to make the announcement before we call the undertaker.

Since the September update to Android 4.1.1, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus users have been waiting patiently for the Android update to come to their device. As of now they are yet to receive 4.1.2, 4.2, and now 4.2.1 with 4.2.2 obviously next (already on reported on some LG Nexus 4 units).

Not to sound like a broken track record but Verizon is the worst carrier in the US when it comes to updates. How they managed to have a Nexus phone like the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus so far behind with its Jelly Bean updates is shocking.

Dwayne is a jack of all trades. Not only is he an executive editor and collaborates on many stories here at Autoomobile, but he also does artwork and handles the running of the website on a daily basis. We’re not sure what we would do without Dwayne, especially on those days when we have a great scoop and our servers can’t handle the influx of traffic.
