Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX Price Slashed, Signals RAZR HD Release Now Near?

By  |

Verizon Wireless has gone ahead and dropped the price of its hot-selling Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX down to $199 with a two-year contract. Now it is important to note that this is not some kind of promotion like we saw with the DROID RAZR that fell to $99 for Mother’s Day.

Verizon Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX price drops, DROID RAZR HD near?

Speaking of the original Motorola DROID RAZR, you will now find that both it and the RAZR MAXX are parked at the same price point. This is strange no doubt given that the RAZR MAXX packs a whopping 3,300mAh battery versus the original RAZR only able to boast a very slightly (2mm) thinner body.

If you’ve been following the rumor mill with regards to upcoming Verizon phones then you will be well aware of the recently leaked Motorola DROID RAZR HD. Speculations claim that it is essentially identical to the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX but gets a larger HD screen, 13-megapixel rear camera and come preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Because of the latter, Motorola has also gotten rid of the capacitive button row up front and instead relies on the ICS on-screen keys.

On a side note, there is also a blue Motorola DROID RAZR headed to Verizon stores and that may be the reason why the original DROID RAZR is still sitting at the $199 price point.
