Cross-platform has been a topic that developers and gaming companies have been talking about for some time now and while we already have a few games that support cross-play, it feels like things are moving at a much slower pace.
According to Ubisoft, they are looking into turning all their PvP games into cross-platform games. Right now, they already have Brawlhalla and Just Dance which support cross-play. Many people believe that this move was to prepare the fans for the next-gen consoles that are coming our way.
With cross-play support added, players playing on the new console would still be able to enjoy and play the game with their fans that own the Xbox One and PS4. Ubisoft games that fans are probably hoping would get cross-play first would be For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege.
Speaking of the next-gen console, it is believed that Ubisoft is working on a new Assasin Creed game that would be released around the same time as the rumored new consoles release date. It is speculated that the new Assassin’s Creed game will be a Viking theme game this time.
