By  |

Today electric vehicles typically offer up a range of around 300 miles and this could mean that the Toyota Prius isn’t going to be around for much longer as it isn’t able to compete. However Toyota is doing something about it so that they can stay current and compete.

Toyota has set up an in-house venture so that staff taken from their four companies are able to focus and work on designing an all-electric vehicle. Toyota of course are well-known for their work in fuel cell technology and while they are not giving up on it, they are going to make an electric vehicle that will be launched by 2020.

The development team have the task of creating an electric vehicle that is able to offer up 300 miles range and it will be launched in 2020 over in Japan. They will still work on fuel cell vehicles and the Mirai is known as being the ultimate in eco-cars. even so they do realise they are going to have to come up with an electric vehicle.

When the electric vehicle does arrive on the market it may mean that the Toyota Prius won’t be around for much longer.
