Toyota Prius Death Is Only A Matter Of Time

Electric vehicles are becoming very popular and today they offer a range in excess of 300 miles. This means that the death of the Toyota Prius is only a matter of time as it isn’t going to be able to compete.

Toyota may be about to do something about this as they have set up an in-house company and this is going to push them towards bringing out an electric vehicle. Toyota has been ahead with hybrid and fuel cell technology and they have now said that they will reveal the Toyota EV in 2020.

The in-house company will take staff from four of the companies of Toyota and the staff will operate independently of the Toyota management structures. This means that they will be able to work fast at getting out an electric vehicle.

The Toyota development and research team is going to come up with a vehicle that will be able to offer up a 300 kilometre range and the first of the vehicles is going to arrive over in Japan by 2020. Toyota is still concentrating on fuel cell vehicles and of course the Mirai is known to be the ultimate among eco-cars. Toyota does know that they do have to come up with a substantial EV though.

So when Toyota offers an EV we may then have to say goodbye to the Toyota Prius.
