The Samsung Galaxy S7 has been a huge winner, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has been the biggest loser. The S7 managed to achieve 10 million sales faster than the predecessor and took 5.8% of the market in the first quarter. The S6 on the other hand got just 3.2% during the quarter that it came out.

When you take the numbers and put them together it suggests that during February 2015 and January 2016, 26% of people went away from Samsung to another brand.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 took the majority of the user switches with 27.5% people choosing the device in 2014. The Samsung Galaxy S6 came in with 26.2% which put it in second place.

We can only guess as to how many people who have the S6 are thinking about making the move to the S7 or S7 Edge, bear in mind that it has increased screen size by 0.4 inches and comes with support for microSD.

At the end of January 2016 we found that the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Note 4 accounted for most of the owners in the US.
