Tesla Model 3 May Not Look Like Preview After All

By  |

We have seen a preview of the Tesla Model 3 but it is looking as though the vehicle may not end up looking like the preview at all. Elon Musk has said that the vehicle was going through design tweaks and these should be completed by the end of June.

The Tesla Model 3 is said to be coming with production spec drivetrains and it is thought that the design of it is close to being complete.

The CEO of the company said that the Tesla Model 3 design would lend itself to high volume production efficiently. There is going to be a stricter vetting process and there has been an increased vertical integration for the production process. Tesla said that production for the parts is going to be done in-house.

Tesla said that they would be boosting up production to 500,000 vehicles each year during 2018. This would be two years in front of the original aim. They are hoping to produce around one million vehicles by 2020.

I, for one, would be extremely disappointed if the production model’s hatch resembled the car in this article. The sweeping profile of the prototype is what snagged my reservation.
