T-Mobile iPhone 5: CEO Cuts 3 Months Off Release Date

By  |

Anyone who has been waiting to get their hands on the Apple iPhone 5 with T-Mobile will not have to wait for much longer. In the world of tech it is unusual for dates to change to be brought forward. They are typically put back if anything. The CEO at T-Mobile said that the device would arrive with the carrier in 6 to 9 months at first and this has now changed to 3 to 4 months. This means that you should be able to get the handset in the summer.

This is not the only change that is heading to T-Mobile as they are also ditching subsidies. However the carrier doesn’t believe that any changes they make will affect the company badly. This is thanks to the fact that monthly plans will be much lower and the CEO believes that this will bring in around 5% more subscribers.

This means you cannot get a subsidised version of the iPhone and you will have to pay the full retail price. On the good side you won’t be stuck with a contract of two years and if you like to keep up to date with the latest handsets, this is great news. You can also make money by selling your old iPhone as iOS handsets have high resale value.

An email was sent out to staff at T-Mobile telling them of a vacation blackout, this is set to take place between 18th March and 14th April, which means the iPhone should arrive at some point during this time.
