Subaru WRX Seems To Be Dropping Behind

By  |

The Subaru WRX was once ahead of the competition but now it is dropping behind the competition and it is looking as though the Ford Focus RS may take over from it.

There is the 2 litre engine in the Subaru WRX and this comes with a manual gearbox with 6 speeds and offers up 268 horse power. The Ford Focus RS on the other hand should offer more when it comes to the US roads soon.

There is going to be a 2.3 litre Ecoboost engine in the Ford Focus RS and Ford used the same engine in the Mustang. However in the RS we are expecting the engine to have been overhauled and we expect it to offer up 345 horse power.

The engine should be able to take the Ford Focus RS from 0 to 62mph in around 4.7 seconds and the top speed should be 165mph. Ford also said that the vehicle is going to offer a Drift Mode and this means that the driving experience will be improved.

The price tag of the Ford Focus RS will be $36, 605 in the US, but for now we are going to have to wait to find out whether it is going to have enough to beat the Subaru WRX.

It’s still a ford… Sorry. Doesn’t take much in STI mods to surpass that hp rating.

The basic WRX puts out 268 HP and the WRX STI puts out @ 300 HP, and is a race – proven design.

And what about all that grip from wrx’s all wheel drive.
You are dreaming to think ford can beat the subi on the ragged edges.
    Who wrote this article anyways?

Because the WRX and the Sti are two differentiated models.

Their market must is growing enough that even the small conservative builder, Subaru, saw the need to evolve the them into distinct vehicles.

That a Ford (or anything, really) landed between the two really only reinforces that their decision was right to focus on their differences for more success in the marketplace. How many of the hot Fords are being sold and how’s that model sales growth chart?
