Subaru WRX STi Keeps On Falling Behind The Competition

By  |

The Subaru WRX STi used to be above the competition but then things changed and the competition is now catching up and getting ahead. Now it is looking as though the vehicle is going to fall behind and the Ford Focus RS may take over it.

The Subaru WRX STi has the 2 litre engine with the 6 speed manual gear box and this means the vehicle offers 268 horses. The Ford Focus RS is going to be offering more than this and it is making its way to the roads in the US soon.

When it arrives the Ford Focus RS will offer the 2.3 litre Ecoboost engine along with 6 speed manual and this engine is the same as the one found in the Ford Mustang. It will have been boosted though and it will offer 345 horses.

The Ford Focus RS should be able to travel from standing still to 62mph in 4.7 seconds and it should be able to reach a top speed of 165mph. When it comes out it will offer the Drift Mode.

It is thought that when the Ford Focus RS makes its way to the roads in the US it will come in with a price tag of $36, 605. But what are your thoughts on it? Do you think it will have what it takes to take over from the Subaru WRX STi?

You stated specs for WRX, not the STi. That being said, while Subaru needs to keep advancing, just because another car gets more horsepower than the STi does not mean it is better. Raw HP data is just one part of the equation of how good a performance car is.
