Subaru WRX Last To Reach The Finish Line?

By  |

This Rally-bred car has always been ahead of the competition, with such likeable features and a powerful engine too. But now it isn’t anymore. The Subaru WRX is crawling to reach the finish line and it looks like the Ford Focus RS may be the next successor to steal the former’s spotlight.

The Focus RS’ 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine could knock over Subaru WRX’s humble 2-litre engine, and we could definitely expect that to happen since the former uses the same engine as the one that’s in the Mustang. Though many are actually expecting for the RS to have an overhauled engine, so 345 horsepower could be naturally estimated.

With the powerful engine the Focus RS is going to bring, it’s going to take the car from a standstill to 62mph in around 4.7 seconds and the top speed should be 165mph. Moreover, we can also expect a “Drift Mode” from Ford, which simply means that the driving experience would be further enhanced, in contrast to that of the manual gearbox with 6 speeds that the WRX has in hand.

If you’re wondering about the price tag of the Ford Focus RS, you should be expecting to get your pay check ready for $36,605. Sound off in the comments below if you think that the Focus RS could beat the Subaru WRX in due time.

3rd gen Subie T manual here, so a bit biased, but still THE MOST FUN and BEST CAR OUT OF THE BOX to date…
I just bought a 2016 highlighted in this article, same color and all. Blew away the focus that I test drove…
That being said, I hope this Ford comes out awesome, would love to see the competition!
