Sony Xperia Z5: Meh

By  |

Yes, it has come to this. The Sony Xperia Z5 is finally going to be offered in the US. But should we be excited about it? While it is a few months late, the Sony flagship is still one of the top Android phones in the market so it was still good news for the Android users (or so we thought).

The arrival of the Sony Xperia Z5 will undoubtedly benefit the Android users in the US but only if the device comes with the same spec. New reports now suggest that unlike the ones the other markets have been getting, the Sony Xperia Z5 that we will be getting will come without the fingerprint sensor.

Sony later came out to confirm that the fingerprint scanner will not be a part of the US version of the Sony Xperia Z5. While they did admit it, they didn’t really offer an elaborated explanation as to why they decided for the fingerprint scanner removal, other than stating that it was a “business decision”.

Some people seem to think that Sony might have forgotten to stock up on fingerprint sensors and decided to just leave it out. Do you think so too? Sound off in the comments below regarding your thoughts on the phone.

No fingerprint sensor, no sale. Teach Sony a lesson about changing specs. Sick and tired of these multiple versions of each f-ing phone per market per carrier. Even the components to support all bands are small enough where there should be one phone that is supported by all carriers. O, the carriers don’t like that – tough sh*t, I should be able to buy an unlocked phone directly from the company!
