Sony Xperia XZ Seizes Power Thanks To Galaxy S8

Sony has managed to come out ahead of Samsung as the Sony Xperia XZ picked up the title of Best New Smartphone at the MWC 2017. However perhaps the only reason it did was due to the fact that Samsung was absent with the Samsung Galaxy S8.

So it looks like due to the Samsung Galaxy S8 not being revealed at the MWC, Sony and the Sony Xperia XZ got a break. The XZ is the second 4K phone to come from the phone maker and it also happened to be the only flagship handset to be offered at the MWC with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, which went a long way to it winning the title.

The processor does come with a downside though and this is the fact that the Sony Xperia XZ Premium isn’t going to be made available until later on this spring. This is due to Samsung hogging all the Snapdragon 835 processors for the Samsung Galaxy S8, which is said to be coming our way on 21 April.

Samsung managed to hold onto the Best Smartphone 2016 for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, however this wasn’t a shock as the device was the best-selling device from 2016.

But what do you think about the Sony Xperia X Premium winning the Best New Smartphone title?
