Skyrim Dragonborn For PS3: 2 Week Window Passes, February Now?

By  |

We are now halfway through January and PS3 owners are still waiting to get their hands on the first DLC for Skyrim, Dragonborn. Xbox 360 owners have had the DLC for two weeks now and still there is no date for the release of it on the PS3. This means that the chances of it coming out this month are very slim.

PS3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC release date likely next month

Bethesda has said that owners of the PS3 will get the DLC early in 2013, but when will they get the release date announcement? Xbox owners got the release date for the DLC two weeks before it was released. However at the moment there is no release date for the PS3, which means that hopes of it being released in January are out.

While the DLC is said to be coming out sometime in early 2013, this could be any time up to June. Therefore if the announcement comes in May only, it would be a long wait for owners of the PS3. The question is whether Bethesda would really be that cruel.

They did say that Dragonborn was the easiest of the DLCs to be released, which was the reason why they were revealing it before Dawnguard and Hearthfire. So if this is so, why isn’t it here already?

Fans of the PS3 have felt betrayed by Bethesda as they have been saying the same thing since the first of the DLC packs were delivered to Xbox 360 owners. On the game box of Skyrim it does say that there will be DLC packs, however owners of the Xbox 360 have 3 and the PS3 none. There is now talk of Skyrim 6 and the 4th DLC, which is thought to be Redguard, so you would think that Bethesda would answer the questions of owners of the PS3 and give them a release date on the current progress. A recent conversation between Pete Hines and an owner of the PS3 seems to sum things up perfectly:

@DCDeacon when can we be expecting dragonborn on ps3 I’m so tired of this whole mess.

@Kyle_lobcity will get you a date as soon as I can.

@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went..

@kyle_lobcity  no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet — Pete Hines (@DCDeacon)

The conversation on Twitter was ended with the owner of the PS3 saying “This is just bulls—t.” So it now seems that we will have to wait and see what happens… in February.
