Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 [REVIEW]

By  |

Skyrim Dragonborn was released on the Xbox 360 a long time ago and they have been telling owners of the PS3 just how good it is. It is out for the PS3 now and if you have yet to get it then you should.

Dragonborn takes gamers to Solstheim in HD and this was the 3rd DLC for Skyrim. It takes place in land that was first seen in Blood Moon, Elder Scrolls, Morrowind. This takes on the appearance of Greenland, only with snow goblins and dragons.

When you start the game you are in a fight with cultists who are trying to kill you off. These two talk about Miraak and Dragonborn and then you kill them. On their bodies there is a note and this tells you about heading to Windhelm. Here you will find a captain who will be willing to take you to Raven Rock. This is where the Temple of Miraak and he is planning on finding all of the All Maker Stones and then he will take over Solstheim, before killing Dragonborn and of course this is you.

Throughout the DLC you will find that some quests are repetitive, however if you want to collect the stones then you will have to go through them. You will know where to find rocks as you will see workers hitting rocks. You can use the Bend Will shout on rocks and you have to dispose of the creatures that come from the rocks. You then have to move on to find the others, until you have found all of them.

As you go through the game you will find that breaking the stones gets harder and harder. You will also have to deal with the Lurkers, which are similar to the Dungeon and Dragons Mind Flayers. There are different versions of these with each of them being worse than the last.

You will come across many quests and settlements throughout the DLC. You need to collect Black Books and decipher them and these will take you to Apocrypha, which is where you will come across Miraak. Along the way you will see bridges that float along with floating cathedrals. When you have learnt all words of the Bend will shout you can take control over men and dragons, and ride dragons after taming them. Miraak does happen to be one of the most imposing of all foes that you will find. Of course the horned mask doesn’t help matters.

You could be forgiven for thinking that you have been there and done that all before. However the DLC is packed with a lot of fun and it will keep you entertained for many hours. Dragonborn is the best DLC in the series and it will have you heading back to Skyrim.
