Lack Of Skyrim DLC For PS3 Overrated

By  |

During the past few weeks we have heard more positive news about DLC for owners of the PS3. Those who own the Xbox 360 have three expansions for Skyrim, while PS3 owners have none. However good news have been announced from Bethesda and they will be making their way to the PS3 at some point in 2013. The first DLC will be Dragonborn.

Skyrim PS3: lack of DLC doesn’t hurt the game

Of course just because there has been a lack of DLCs for the PS3, it doesn’t mean that Skyrim isn’t arguably the best game out there on PS3 at the moment.

The game has provided owners of the PS3 with a solid gaming experience even with the lack of DLC. At the moment owners of the PS3 don’t have access to Hearthfire, Dawnguard or Dragonborn. Despite this, I personally have spent some 350 hours playing Skyrim and have enjoyed every second of it.

Meanwhile Skyrim for the PC has lots of mods and DLCs. The problem here is that the expansions do not come out quick enough. Owners of the Xbox 360 on the other hand have the DLCs, but they lack mods. PS3 owners don’t have any DLCs yet, including the very popular Dawnguard, and they are feeling somewhat left out of things.

As you can see all owners of all consoles have something they are not happy about when it comes to Skyrim. Despite this there is no getting away from the fact that the game is great, regardless of whether you have DLCs or not. Skyrim does provide hundreds of hours of fun and so it is still great value for money.

Fans of course have forgotten this, and it is because the DLC cycle is being very well publicized, putting fans on an unnecessary roller coaster ride of ups and downs. However if you are waiting for Hearthfire, Dawnguard or Dragonborn, bear in mind just how much fun you did have playing Skyrim when you first got it.

Owners of the PS3 naturally want the packs and most owners of the console wouldn’t dream of throwing the console away and getting the Xbox 360, just because they cannot get the DLC packs fast enough. At least that’s what I think as a long-time PS3 user. Pete Hines has been on Twitter a lot laterly and he said that he knew what PS3 owners felt and went on to say that he would give them information as soon as he knew what was happening with the remaining DLC packs.
