Skyrim Dawnguard DLC For PS3: Does Bethesda Have Any Empathy?

By  |

Owners of the PS3 want to know what is happening with Skyrim Dawnguard for their console. While some things are a little clearer when it comes to the PS3 (there is definitely new content coming your way), what we don’t know is whether this content will contain Dawnguard or Dragonborn. Of course we do know that the 3rd DLC in the Skyrim line-up is exclusive to the Xbox 360. This has naturally caused anger among PS3 users.

So what is happening? Product-Reviews points out that there have been some tweets from Pete Hines over the past few weeks and this has shown people that what he would like to share with users and what he actually is allowed share with them, happen to be two different things. Pete knows much more than he is letting on, and he might know if and when Dawnguard is coming to PS3. However at the moment he cannot tell people about it on Twitter.

One of the changes that was seen on Twitter comments was more personal tweets from the Bethesda man. Along with this came a statement that it was also his personal Twitter account. Therefore he seems to be stuck between a rock and a hard place as he can’t make announcements about Skyrim PS3 until he has permission. One tweet pointed out that life on Twitter must be hard for him when he receives messages regarding angry PS3 owners.

Hines can do no more than keep checking for details, which he can then share with users over Twitter or check what he can say to users through Twitter. Because of this, some tweets even asked if he had any empathy towards PS3 users. He couldn’t say more than what he was allowed to share.

The bottom line is that it could mean that Skyrim and the lack of reports about it, may mean that it is not coming to the PS3, or Bethseda have lost the plot when it comes to knowing what gamers want.
