Fans of Samsung’s smartwatch have been waiting for Samsung to reveal more about their upcoming Samsung Gear S4 smartwatch and while Samsung has not announced anything yet, new reports are suggesting that Samsung might ditch their own platform in favor of the Google’s Wear OS.

This was reported by Ice Universe who revealed that the next Samsung Gear S4 will most likely be called the Galaxy Watch and that the device will be based on Android Wear. It was added that the device will have a 470mAh battery, PLP package and will also have a new UX interaction and blood pressure measurement.

Other features will come from Wear OS or other third party apps. Of course, this is just one of the many rumors. Others seem to believe that Samsung could be working with a Gear S4 that would run on their Tizen OS and another Samsung Galaxy Watch that would be running on Wear OS.

Samsung is expected to announce their new smartwatch at the IFA 2018 which will be happening on the 31st of August.
