Samsung are seemingly going to do the impossible by launching a larger handset, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, with a smaller battery. So how will this affect battery life?
If the rumours can be believed then Samsung will launch the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus with a battery of 3,500mAh and if they do it will be smaller than the S7 Edge battery, which is 3,600mAh, but the S8 Plus will be bigger.
A leak has suggested that the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is going to be 3,500mAh and the standard version will have a battery of 3,000mAh. The leak comes from China so it could be plausible and the model number does seem to match the FCC certification of the Galaxy S8 Plus.
The leak didn’t mention anything about the manufacturer of the battery. It has been said that Samsung have looked into different suppliers following the issue with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Should the rumours prove to be true, the power pack might come from a number of companies.
But will Samsung offer a battery of 3,500mAh in the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus if the handset is going to gain in size and what will this mean to the battery life?
