There have been many rumours going around that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to arrive with a virtual fingerprint recognition system. However this is now looking doubtful thanks to time constraints.

Samsung joined up with Synaptics for technology for the Galaxy S series of handsets. Of course Samsung do have to come up with something if they want to impress people after the mess with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

It was said Samsung had put resources into the technology of Synaptic last year but they ended up with results that were frustrating. Production is now imminent and Samsung have decided to move the fingerprint scanner which was on the home button, onto the back of the device. They did this right at the last minute it was said.

Samsung said that it was hard to develop transparent sensors along with components that are used on an all-screen phone. If the tech is fully developed it would be a huge step forward for the smartphone industry.

So the Samsung Galaxy S8 probably isn’t going to arrive with the virtual fingerprint recognition system, we might have to wait for the S9.
