Samsung Galaxy S6 Turned Its Back on Pure Android

By  |

Some owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 just cannot wait to update to the latest operating system as it brings with it plenty of great things and improves their device. Others are happy with what they have and aren’t really bothered about making an update.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 too forever to get updated to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and those with the handset could only look on in envy at those with the LG G4, who enjoyed Doze and the rest of the benefits.

Pure Android handsets generally get updated faster but then the Samsung Galaxy S6 has turned its back on pure Android and the Google Play Editions. The GPE handsets haven’t been offered for some time and this is due to the fact that they simply weren’t popular enough.

It’s been over two years since Samsung offered the Google Play Editions and people just don’t want them. While they did tend to get updated faster the downside was lack of support.

But are you happy with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and other Samsung handsets or should they offer up the devices as Google Play Editions?
