Samsung Galaxy S6 Reveals Pure Android Downfall

By  |

There are many owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 who really don’t care whether they have the latest version of Android on their device or not. Others are always watching to find out if a new version is available for their handset and promptly go and download it.

Many owners waited for the update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and LG G4 owners got the updated ahead of them and gloated. These owners started to enjoy Doze along with Google Now on Tap.

Samsung used to give owners the option of having pure Android by way of the Google Play Editions but it seems that pure Android wasn’t all that popular and so the GPE died off. Samsung now offer the Google Lock app, which has been a frustration for some lovers of the Android pure experience.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow did take a long time to arrive on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and pure Android devices usually get updated first. However it wasn’t popular enough.

The GPE handsets haven’t been around for two years due to lack of popularity and perhaps the biggest downfall had been support, which is typically not so good. So the Samsung Galaxy S6 is going to have to wait for updates.
