Samsung Galaxy S6: Pure Android Isn’t So Popular

By  |

Some Samsung Galaxy S6 owners haven’t got a clue as to what version of Android is on their handset. Others update as soon as they are told they can and a few people want to get hold of the latest update as soon as possible and are forever checking for updates themselves.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 had to be patient waiting for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update while owners of the LG G4 got the update and began to enjoy benefits such as Google Now on Tap and Doze.

Samsung used to offer almost pure Android with the Google Play Edition handsets but they stopped offering them as not that many people wanted them. So it seems that pure Android really isn’t all that popular. Instead they offer the Good Lock app but this has frustrated many people.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow did seem to take forever to reach the Samsung Galaxy S6 but there wasn’t that many people who wanted the pure Android for Samsung to offer it. Typically pure Android gets updated faster.

The Google Play Editions stopped around two years ago due to not that many people buying them. Bear in mind that with pure Android the support is usually bad and Sony learned this lesson.
