Samsung Galaxy S6: Pure Android Died, Here Is Why

By  |

There are many owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 who don’t know which version of Android they are running, others update when they receive a message to do so and some constantly look for updates as they want to update as soon as possible.

Samsung Galaxy S6 owners waited with patience for the update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop as LG G4 owners were given the update before them and enjoyed Doze and Google Now On Tap.

Samsung used to give owners pure Android with Google play Editions but they stopped this and began to use the Good Lock app. Many people were frustrated at the lack of pure Android but it seems that the GPEs were not in favour.

People wanted the update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and took a long time to reach the handset but there wasn’t that many people asking for pure Android and the Google Play Editions. One of the reasons why pure Android has been so popular is that it gets updated faster.

The Google Play Editions haven’t been around for two years now but you do have to consider that with pure Android support is generally bad and this is something that Sony had to learn the hard way.
