Samsung Galaxy S6: Failure Of Pure Android

By  |

There are many owners of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S6 included, who don’t have any idea about what OS is on their handset. Others continually check to see if they do have the latest operating systems while other will update when they get a reminder that they can do so.

Many people with the Samsung Galaxy S6 waited a long time to get hold of the update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and numerous handsets, including the LG G4 got the update and began to enjoy Google Now on Tap and Doze before S6 owners.

Samsung used to offer up close to pure Android but as there wasn’t enough demand for it they gave up on the Google Play Editions and instead brought in Good Lock. Some owners have been frustrated about lack of pure Android but the demand hasn’t been high enough to warrant it.

There has been some complaints from people but there hasn’t been enough people complaining to warrant Samsung bringing back pure Android as it isn’t profitable.

Google Play Editions haven’t been around for some time now but then people may wish to bear in mind that with pure Android you do typically have to give up support and Sony found this out the hard way.
