The Samsung Galaxy S6 along with the S6 Edge is two superb looking handsets and both offer performance that is hard to beat. Both also produce images that are stunning thanks to the Quad HD AMOLED display. One thing going against them is the battery life.

Many of those who moved to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge did it thanks to the battery. This is now 3,000mAh and 3,600mAh. These of course are much better than the battery on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

You might have thought that the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S6 dragged down the sales of the handset. However many people have said that what lets the handset down is the prone to it overheating. In some cases this meant that the handset wasn’t able to hold its charge for long.

Some blamed this on the software of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and others said it was the hardware that was to blame. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has always been a power drainer but Doze on Marshmallow wasn’t able to solve the issue.

It may have been the hardware on the Samsung Galaxy S6 that was at fault as many owners tried many methods to improve the battery life but didn’t.
