Samsung Galaxy S4 Monster Specs Storm At DROID DNA

HTC have revealed their 5 inch 1080 x 1920 device with 440ppi, and now it appears that Samsung doesn’t want to be outdone and they too are preparing to stir up some excitement with a screen of their own to join the 1080p club. New reports from Korea have appeared which say that Samsung is working on a 1080p device that may be revealed at CES 2013 in January reports AndroidCommunity.

Samsung Galaxy S4 may crash HTC DROID DNA 1080p club

The display of the handset is said to be 1080 x 1920 True HD Super AMOLED and it will be crisp and very bright and come in at 441ppi. Of course ppi will not be as important as the colour, brightness and battery life but many will see it as being higher than the 440ppi of the DROID DNA.

One very interesting part of the claim is that the Samsung Galaxy S4 could be unveiled at the CES in 2013, suggesting that it will be the first Samsung phone to get the 1080p honors. Samsung will want to the device to get as much attention as possible and they will host their own event for it, along with trade shows. However the Galaxy S2 and S3 were both revealed in March and April, as opposed to January. With this in mind we could see samples at the CES and the device could come later in Q2.

Of course there is the HTC Droid DNA coming out and the Note 2 with its 5.5 inch display is one the shelves, so it is possible that 2013 could be the year of devices with bigger screens and higher displays. Things have really taken off in the world of mobile phones thanks to 1080p displays, quad core processors and other innovations. This means that there should be plenty of excitement at the CES in Las Vegas in 2013.
