Thanks to the ongoing rumors that came well before the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S3, the hype behind the device has made it the highest pre-ordered Android handset to date. It has also given the Samsung Galaxy S3 a lot of enemies this year post haste. So let’s take a look at the closest upcoming rivals to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Closest Samsung Galaxy S3 rivals: iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & LG Optimus Vu

The Optimus Vu from LG is one of these handsets. It is set for release in the US towards the end of September and it will have LTE support in the US. The Optimus was said to be a challenger to the Galaxy Note from Samsung and in South Korea the device is already on the shelves and has sold around half a million units. It will come with a 5 inch screen of 1024 x 768 pixels and have Android 4.0. it has a Snapdragon dual core 1.5GHz processor and 1GB or RAM with 32GB of storage internally. The 8 megapixel camera steals the show and the device comes with a stylus called the Vu Pen.

The Apple iPhone 5 is another crowd favorite. It is said to have a 4 inch Retina screen with a ratio of 16:9 and it will be longer than iPhones on the market at the moment. The camera has been rumored to be 8 megapixel and it may have 1GB or RAM, have a 3D camera, support for NFC and 4G LTE and run iOS6. It is thought that the iPhone 5 will make its debut on 12th September and be on shelves around nine days later. It should be on the major carriers including AT&T and Verizon.

The Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung is said to have a screen of 5.5 inches of flexible AMOLED with a resolution of 1280 x 720p. it is thought that it will make use of the Unbreakable Plane technology which would make it one of the strongest screens on the market. The device will have an Exynos quad core processor of 1.6GHz and it will have 1.5GHz RAM and be for sale in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, with expandable memory. It is thought that it will run Android 4.0 out of the box and it may have a 13 megapixel camera. Rumors have it that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will launch on 29th August.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
