Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X: Don’t Dismiss HTC So Fast

If you are weighing up the HTC One X up against the Samsung Galaxy S3, the One X should not be underestimated. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is among the best-selling devices of 2012, but the One X has a great deal to offer. Let’s take a look at why it stands out.

HTC One X vs Samsung Galaxy S3

Both of the handsets come with Android 4.0 ICS. The HTC One X comes with a 1.5GHz quad core processor which is in comparison to the 1.4GHz quad-core of the Samsung Galaxy S3. While the processor the One X may sound more powerful thanks to its higher clocked processor, recent benchmark tests have revealed that size is not everything. It was found that the S3 is just as good due to it having newer architecture in the chip. However if you do still go on bigger is better, than the HTC One X would have to be the winner. Also in the US, both the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 run on the same dual-core Snapdragon chip.

Both of the handsets have cameras of 8 megapixels and the cameras can take HD video at 1080p. The cameras also come with features such as autofocus and LED flash, plus HTC boasted about their camera beating the one on the iPhone 4S, along with it having plenty of after capture features i.e. filters, that the S3 can’t boast about.

The HTC One X blows the Samsung Galaxy S3 out of the water when it comes down to the design as the S3 does have what some have described as being a cheap plastic look about it. The One X has a more premium look and feel to it, which makes it the winner.

There are some downsides to the HTC One X that could be the reason it is seen in negative light when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3. This includes lack of expandable storage and a removable battery. But do keep in mind, this only matters if you can live with 32GB and you happen to be an Android power users who keeps a spare battery pack in his/her pocket.
