Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has got rave reviews around the world and is compared to high end phones all around the market and many say that without doubt it is a clear winner. Some even say that it is the successor to the iPhone 4S, the current highest selling smartphone on the market. However the One X, the flagship phone from HTC, is one of the first quad core handsets of the company on the Android OS and it has come out on top of competition against other Android phones available on the market right now..

Both of the handsets are very much sought after and come with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed. The Galaxy S3 has the Exynos 2412 1.4GHz quad core processor and 1GB of RAM while the HTC One X comes with a quad core 1.5GHZ processor and 1GB RAM.

When it comes to memory the S3 comes in 16GB, 32GB and 54GB of internal and microSD up to 32GB. On the other hand the HTC One X has 32GB internal memory and no external expansion.

The display on the Galaxy S3 is 4.8 inches with 720×1280 pixels and 306 ppi, Super AMOLED with 18 million colours and Gorilla Glass. The HTC One X has a 4.7 screen Super OPS LCD2 with Gorilla Glass.

The camera on the S3 is 8 megapixels with autofocus, LED flash and provides HD video with image stabilization and it also comes with a front facing 1.9 megapixel camera. The One X also as an 8 megapixel camera that can capture video in 1080p and has a second camera capable of capturing 720p.

Battery life comes in the form of a Li-ion 2050mAh on the Galaxy S III which offers great battery life and the HTC One X has a 1800mAh battery which provides around 8 hours of talking time.

As you can see there is not much to choose from between these top two Android dual core 8 megapixel HD handsets. Both seem almost the same on paper. If there were any key differences, it would have to come down to design and hardware prowess. The Samsung Galaxy S3 beats the HTC One X in multiple benchmarks. While at the same time, the form factor of the HTC One X is admired while the exterior styling on the Samsung Galaxy S3 has attracted much criticism.

You can’t go wrong with either one of these devices and so if you had to choose, we would leave it to the last two points – power vs looks.
