Samsung Galaxy S3 To Steal Note 2’s Best Feature?

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Europe have started to get the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. However new reports suggest that S3 owners may be getting something even more special soon.

Newer Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update could include multi-windows

SamMobile said that the Samsung Galaxy S3 could be getting an update to Android 4.1.2 before 2012 is over. This update would give users of the Galaxy S3 Multi-Windows, found on the Note 2. This allows you to multi-task in multi-windows. At the moment the Jelly Bean update that is rolling out is the 4.1.1 version.

There are a great deal of hardware similarities between the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3. This means that porting multi-view to the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be fairly easy to accomplish.

Not all of the apps on Android are able to make use of the multi-window feature that is seen on the Note 2 at the moment. There are however many commonly used apps, and plenty that have been provided by both Samsung and Google, especially aimed at making use of multi-view. Multi-view takes mobile handsets a little closer to the experience which users have with their desktop computers. Whether the feature will be as good on the Samsung Galaxy S3, as it is on the Note 2, remains to be seen as the display of the S3 is smaller.
