Samsung Galaxy S3 Battery Life Tanks Cos Of Jelly Bean

When Verizon offered the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3, owners of the handset were happy to get their hands on it. However some have now found out that the battery life of their handset is pathetic, following the update.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update hurts battery life

When Verizon offered the update there were many owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 saying that once installed, the device’s battery drained faster, even when left doing nothing overnight.

So we thought that we would test this and took the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with ICS and gave it a full charge. The battery had gone down to around 98% overnight, when it was checked the next morning at 7am. We then took a Samsung Galaxy S3 with Jelly Bean already installed and did the same thing and when checking at the same time the next morning it had gone down to 89%.

We have no way of knowing why this happens, however there are ways that you can stop the battery on your handset draining down so fast. You can turn of Google Now location services. It seems that Google Now and the services could be checking more often with Jelly Bean.
