Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 Update Good As Confirmed

Recently we decided to ask our readers who own the Samsung Galaxy S3 if they were still happy with their handset or if they were disappointed that they were still waiting for the update to Jelly Bean. The update is available with the majority of carriers in the US, but customers of Verizon along with AT&T and US Cellular are still waiting for it to come their way. What’s worse is that neither carrier has said when the update will come out.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update news

Customers with Verizon and AT&T may still be waiting for the update; however those with it such as T-Mobile and Sprint users are now waiting for the next Android update which is 4.2.

The good news is that Samsung have announced that they are looking in to the portfolio of handsets that will get the update and they have said that the update will be coming soon. This means that owners of their flagship device will eventually get the update, but when no one knows.

Samsung are of course well known to be slow in offering updates and this could very well mean that owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have to wait some time yet to get their hands on it.

Of course in the case of AT&T and Verizon, this is not the fault of Samsung delaying, but the carriers themselves. Due to the fact that both of the carriers are the last to roll out the update, you can bet that the same will happen with Android 4.2.

Android 4.2 brings new features such as Photo Sphere and Gesture Typing. However these are about the only large improvements, with others being minor. Given that Samsung have confirmed that they are looking at the existing portfolio for the Android 4.2 update and the Galaxy S3 is at the top of it, this pretty much confirms it is getting it. As for devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and original Note, there’s no way of telling if they will be as lucky.
