Samsung have officially said that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be getting the update to Jelly Bean Android 4.1 very “soon”, reports PhoneReviews today.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update confirmed coming “soon”

At the moment around 1.2% of Android handsets have Jelly Bean installed and the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be among these shortly. However Samsung have not turned their backs on older handsets which is why they gave confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S2 would indeed be getting a new lease of life.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean offer users plenty of new features and a speed boost to their device. These include better notifications, new home screen widgets that resize and improved support for NFC. When Jelly Bean is rolled out for the Galaxy S2 it will allows users to tap to share photos through NFC, improved camera features, Google Now, Project Butter, and heaps more new features.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update should be available OTA and through KIES within the next couple of weeks if reports serve true.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, iPhone and Android games keep Berke busy at work all day. Honestly though we’re not sure why we’re paying him as it should be the other way around.
