Samsung Galaxy S2 & Jelly Bean: Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

The Samsung S2 is nearly two years old but thankfully the handset has aged well. It ages gracefully thanks to the high end specs along with a developer community that is healthy and the fact that the handset was very popular in its early days.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update confirmed but February is just a starting point

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is due for another update in the form of Jelly Bean 4.1, with Samsung saying that it would start rolling out in Singapore in February. However at the moment this is the only place.

Fans of the device were hoping that they would get the update very soon, however you might want to curtail your excitement as the update relies on your carrier.

If the last major update is anything to go on, which was ICS, there were large delays at AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, all of which helped to drag the name of Samsung through the mud. The same thing happened with the Samsung Galaxy S before it, and with this Verizon climbed on board too and really dragged their feet.

As owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2 have already suffered, you may not want to get your hopes up this time about the update to Jelly Bean. It is coming sometime this year on carriers with the branded Samsung Galaxy S2 handset but definitely not in February.
