Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean Update: The Good & Bad News
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is now almost two years old but like all Galaxy S phones, it ages well. This is thanks to top-end specs and a healthy developer community behind the devices due to their popularity.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update rollout confirmed but only for Singapore
Now the Samsung Galaxy S2 is up for its next major update – Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The good news comes by way of Samsung who officially announced last week that the Jelly Bean update would be making its way out starting next month. The only problem is that Samsung have only confirmed the Jelly Bean update will be making its way to Singapore in February. That is all.
So while all hopes have been lifted that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be getting the boost to Jelly Bean very soon, we would suggest containing your excitement as you are after all at the mercy of your carriers.
In the case of the last major update, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, the massive delays its rollout suffered over on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile had Samsung’s name dragged through the mud. In fact the same happened with the Galaxy S as well for which even Verizon was on board.
So given the hardship Samsung Galaxy S2 users have already suffered, we would suggest not getting your hopes up for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update just yet. If anything, expect it sometime this year on your US carrier branded S2.
