Talks about Samsung looking to offer the in-display fingerprint scanner on their device has been going on for some time now and it looks like we might finally be seeing it on the Samsung Galaxy S10.

In the latest patent filing, we got to see how the fingerprint scanner will work on the Galaxy S10. The documents showed that a small module behind the lower portion of its edge-to-edge screen when users can place their fingerprint for authentication.

Of course, it made sense that this is where the tech is heading but it will be interesting to see if the in-display scanner will be faster and more efficient than the existing scanners. Samsung will most likely continue to offer the face recognition feature as well so users will have more than one way to secure their smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to make its debut in 2019.
