Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow Update: Good & Bad

By  |

So the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 finally got handed the update to Marshmallow. But has the wait for the update been worth it?

As with any update there are some pros and some cons. But do the pros outweigh the cons or was the wait for its arrival a waste of time?

On the good side is the fact that the handset seems to be faster following the update to Marshmallow. Owners have said that there isn’t any lag with using the multi-window screen and that apps on the device open up faster than before.

The update to Android 6 Marshmallow also seems to have fixed the issue with the fingerprint scanner taking owners back to the lock screen. Also fixed is the issue when connecting to WiFi. This was when the device said that there was a faster connection available and then it would take you back onto the LTE network.

Battery life is said to be good following the update and shortcuts can now be added to the Air Command. The network radio seems to have been given a new lease of life as it shows correct bars now and the speaker has been made louder.

Of course there are some downsides and owners have said that these include the icons that look like cartoons and the fact that there are no themes.

Do you have Marshmallow on your Samsung Galaxy 4 and have you noticed any improvements or downsides after making the update?

My Note 4 has been sluggish since installing the update and has been not receiving some texts. No improvement I can tell.
