When the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was released there were some people who said that it looked like a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The handset was bigger but it did have looks that were very similar. However the larger device does come with many differences and it offers users a lot more.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is offered in titanium grey and marble white and it does have the volume and home buttons in the same layout.

There were some who thought that the original Galaxy Note was too large. However it did prove to be very popular. This prompted Samsung to reveal the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and this was even bigger. It doesn’t look much bigger and the reason for this is the thin bezel. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a ratio of 16:9 and this is brilliant if you watch movies on your handset. The device does require large hands and you may wish to get a Bluetooth headset as it can get heavy if you make calls that are long.

There have been hardware improvements over the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features a 1.6GHz quad core processor and it has 2GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is offered with dual cores in the US and it comes with 2GB of RAM. Internationally it is a quad core processor matched with 1GB of RAM. This means that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 wins as it offers the best of both.

You can get the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with 16GB of internal storage and you can boost its storage with SD card. The handset runs on Jelly Bean 4.1 and Project Butter means that it is smooth when running apps.

The device has a battery of 3100mAh, while the predecessor came with a battery of 2500mAh. This means that you should be able to get around 12 hours of talk time from it. The battery is larger as it has to power the display, which is larger and is has LTE.

It has a camera of 8 megapixels on the back and a 1.9 megapixel on the front of the device. Improvements have been made to the battery over the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it offers around 7 hours of playing video, which was tested when playing looped video. The device may be larger; however it doesn’t mean that it needs charging more.

The S Pen is one of the features and some improvements have been made here. It feels like you are writing with pen on paper. On taking the stylus from the dock apps open. These are Quick Command, Easy Clip and Air View. Air View allows you to preview content and Easy Clip is perfect for cropping photos.

One of the best features of the device is Multi-View. This allows owners of the device to have two apps open at the same time and each of these may be resized independently.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is what competitors have to match and Samsung have raised the bar high. It will be popular and it sold more than 5 million units to date. There are some who will prefer the Samsung Galaxy S3 as it is the smaller of the two handsets, however these people will have no idea what they will be missing. This includes the larger screen, the bigger battery and the S Pen, plus the processor which happens to be very powerful.
