Samsung To Launch Cheap Galaxy Note 2 Alternative In Q1

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is one popular phablet. However it isn’t just its screen size that is large – it comes with a $299 contract price at the moment. So now Samsung is purportedly working on a cheaper phablet with the same display size as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 suggest KnowYourMobile.

It is thought that the phone would come with a display that would be very similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which is 5.5 inches. The device is said to be a budget device and therefore it may not have the premium-like Samsung Galaxy Note branding however. This will be due to the fact that the device will not have all the features of the Note series devices either, such as the Wacom digitizer and the S Pen stylus.

This would mean that Samsung would not upset all those who have paid out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with this alternative.

Of course at the moment this is nothing more than a rumour. However it has been said that the device will not come with the Super AMOLED screen, this would help keep down the cost of the device. it is thought that it will have a display of regular OLED or even LCD.

The specs of the budget Samsung Galaxy Note 2 alternative would be a lot more humble than what is found in the Note 2, such as the quad core Exynos processor.

It is likely that this Samsnung phablet will be seen at the CES in January or the MWC in February. If of course the rumours turn out to be true.
